GETTING TO VILLAGE OF DEIA

Deià may be a secluded small village, but getting here is part of the adventure. The easiest way to reach Deià is by car, but if you don’t have one and are staying in major cities like Palma de Mallorca, Valldemossa, or Port de Soller, and don’t mind taking day trips, public transportation offers easy access. The 203 bus is the main option, running between Palma and Port de Sóller with stops in Valldemossa and Deià. Click here for website and schedules.
The drive itself is breathtaking, taking you along a winding mountain road with stunning views of the Tramuntana mountains and the Mediterranean. If you’re relying on the bus, keep in mind that schedules can be limited, so it’s best to check in advance. No matter how you arrive, visiting this charming village is well worth the journey.
Bus Routes to Deià
- Palma to Deià: The 203 bus runs regularly throughout the week, stopping in Valldemossa before reaching Deià. The journey takes about 50 minutes. Tickets cost €2.70 online or €4.50 if purchased on board.
- Valldemossa to Deià: Also served by the 203 bus, this short ride takes 15 minutes. Tickets cost €1.80 if purchased online in advance or €3 if bought on board.
- Port de Sóller to Deià: The 203 bus operates hourly between Port de Sóller and Deià, taking around 40 minutes. Tickets cost €2.70 online or €4.50 if purchased on board.
- Other Towns: While there are no direct buses from other towns like Alcúdia or Santa Ponsa, you can reach Deià by taking a bus to Palma and transferring to the 203 bus.
If you’re planning a visit, checking schedules ahead of time will make your journey smoother.
WHEN TO VISIT DEIA

MAY, JUNE & SEPTEMBER (shoulder season)
The ideal months to visit! The island is warm but with fewer crowds, making it perfect for enjoying the sights. Plus, you can get good value on hotel prices and availability.
JULY & AUGUST (high season)
Summer months can get extremely hot, and the island will be packed with tourists. Expect higher accommodation prices and limited availability during the peak season.
APRIL & OCTOBER (off-season)
You will definitely see more affordable rates and plenty of availability. The weather is usually pleasant, but it can be a bit hit or miss. Some places on the island might not be fully operational, so it’s a good idea to check what’s open or closed before booking.
NOVEMBER – MARCH (winter)
I do not suggest visiting because its cold and can be rainy and many places will be closed.
DEIÀ RESTAURANTS
Dining in Deià is one of the best things to do while visiting, as this mountain village is home to some of the best restaurants on the island. From elegant fine dining to rustic seaside eateries, each place has its own unique charm. Whether you’re here for a romantic getaway, a relaxing retreat, or just passing through, this guide will help you find the perfect place to eat in Deià while enjoying incredible views of the Mediterranean Sea. Now, lets dive in!
NAMA

If you’re in the mood for fresh and flavorful Asian cuisine, NAMA is the perfect place to go for dinner. Located in the heart of Deià on the northwest coast of Mallorca, this stylish and cozy restaurant has a spectacular view of the valley and the surrounding Serra de Tramuntana mountains.
The Mediterranean-Asian fusion menu is fantastic, but honestly, it’s the atmosphere that makes this place special. If you can, grab a seat on the back terrace—the views over the valley are next level. Pair your meal with a glass of wine or aperol spritz, toast to your relaxing day, and enjoy the magic of this incredible picturesque village.

Ca’s Patro March is hands down one of the most iconic restaurants in Mallorca. Located right by the water on the hillside above Cala Deia beach, this cozy spot has the best view of the Mediterranean! Think fresh seafood, laid-back beachy vibes, and an unbeatable setting. It’s a popular spot, so be sure to make a reservation on their website—tables fill up fast. The seafood here is incredible, with fresh fish being the standout, plus highlights like the grilled shrimp and perfectly grilled squid. If you’re stopping by for lunch after a morning at the beach or coming for dinner with sunset drinks, this Deia restaurant is a must a visit!
SA FORADADA

You may have seen this on Instagram, – but it definitely lives up to the hype! Sa Foradada is one of those places that feels like a hidden gem, and getting there is part of the adventure! This family-run restaurant is only accessible by boat or a scenic hike, but trust me—it’s totally worth it. The hike is gradual and manageable, especially if you make a day of it and stop for a swim along the way.
Once you arrive, you’ll find a rustic, open-air spot perched on the cliffs above a stunning cove. The atmosphere is laid-back and the views of the Mediterranean are absolutely breathtaking. The highlight here is their famous wood-fired paella, cooked right in front of you, filling the air with the most incredible aroma. It’s hands-down one of the best paellas you’ll find in Mallorca!
The whole experience is special—fresh seafood, stunning views, and a relaxed vibe that makes you want to stay for hours. Just a heads-up: if you are driving, you’ll need to park at the top near the MA-10 road and walk down for about 30–45 minutes, so wear comfy shoes and be ready to earn your meal.
