ARRIVING IN MALLORCA

Your adventure begins as you land at Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI), the main gateway to the island. This airport is well-connected with direct flights from major cities in Europe. Once you arrive, the best way to explore Mallorca is by renting a car. Public transportation is limited, and having your own car gives you the freedom to discover the best beaches, hidden coves, and charming old towns at your own pace.
RENTAL CAR TIPS
- Book your rental car in advance, especially during peak season.
- Highly suggest getting a compact car since many villages have narrow streets and parking can be tight.
- Some of the most beautiful beaches require driving on winding roads, so be prepared for scenic (and sometimes steep) routes.
- Look for accommodations with a parking lot included to avoid the hassle of finding street parking.
ALTERNATIVE TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS
If renting a car isn’t an option, you can use Mallorca’s public transportation system, which includes buses and trains. The TIB network serves the entire island and EMT are city buses designed for fast transport around the city centre of Palma. There is also the vintage train from Palma to Sóller that’s a scenic ride through the mountains. Taxis and ride-sharing services are also available but can be expensive for long distances.
WHEN TO VISIT

MAY, JUNE & SEPTEMBER: The ideal months to visit! The island is warm but with fewer crowds, making it perfect for enjoying the sights. Plus, better hotel availability and prices.
JULY & AUGUST: These months can get extremely hot, and the island will be packed with tourists. Expect higher accommodation prices and limited availability.
APRIL & OCTOBER: More affordable rates and plenty of availability. The weather is usually pleasant, but it can be a bit hit or miss. Some places on the island might not be fully operational, so it’s a good idea to check what’s open or closed before booking.
NOVEMBER – MARCH: Do not visit because its cold and can be rainy and many places will be closed.
MALLORCA TRAVEL TIPS

GETTING AROUND MALLORCA
A rental car is essential since everything is so spread out and public transportation isn’t the most convenient. Having your own car allows you to explore Mallorca’s best beaches, hidden calas, and charming old towns with ease. Make sure to arrive early as there is limited parking availability near beaches and many of these small parking lots fill up quickly.
CALA
The word “Cala” means “cove” in Spanish, and Mallorca is filled with beautiful hidden calas—small, secluded beaches surrounded by cliffs and clear blue waters. Some of the best calas include Cala Deià, Cala Llombards, and Cala de sa Calobra.
- Keep in mind that many of these calas can be rocky, so water shoes are essential!
- Bring Floaties & Snorkel Gear. The water is crystal clear—perfect for snorkeling
- Bring a portable air pump to inflate and deflate floats
CURRENCY
Mallorca uses the Euro (€), so make sure to have some cash on hand, although credit cards are widely accepted.
LANGUAGE
Spanish is the official language, but many people also speak Catalan. English is commonly spoken in tourist areas, but it’s always a nice touch to learn a few basic phrases

MALLORCA ITINERARY – DAY 1

Welcome to your first full day in Mallorca! Get ready to immerse yourself in the island’s dreamy landscapes by starting your adventure in Deià, a stunning little picturesque village tucked into the Serra de Tramuntana mountains, is the perfect introduction to Mallorca’s natural beauty. Known for its peaceful vibe and rich history, Deià has long been a magnet for artists, writers, and creatives—and as soon as you set foot here, you’ll see exactly why. The winding streets of the old town, stone houses, and colorful flowers feel like they’ve been lifted straight from a postcard. It’s one of those places where you can’t help but slow down and take it all in.
Hike to Cala Deià – Your day kicks off with a beautiful hike down to Cala Deià, one of Mallorca’s most picturesque little coves. The early morning is the best time to tackle this hike, as the cool air will make the trail much more enjoyable before the midday heat hits. The path winds through pine forests, past rocky cliffs, and olive groves, with stunning views of the turquoise Mediterranean sea below. The hike is moderate—nothing too strenuous, but enough to get your heart pumping and reward you with one of the most scenic beaches on the island. Once you reach the cove, take some time to sit back, dip your toes in the cool water, and enjoy the serenity. It’s a peaceful spot, perfect for quiet reflection before the crowds arrive later in the day.
Coffee Break – After your hike, take some time to relax and recharge. Deià is filled with cozy cafés and terraces that offer a perfect place to enjoy a coffee or freshly squeezed orange juice. There are plenty of cute spots to choose from, but a place with a terrace and mountain views is always a good idea. Sit back, sip slowly, and just enjoy being here.
Explore – Once you’re refreshed, take a leisurely stroll through Deià’s charming old town. The small village is packed with beauty. Traditional stone houses are draped in bougainvillea, and the narrow, cobblestone streets invite you to explore every corner. You’ll find plenty of shops and art galleries with works inspired by Mallorca’s stunning landscapes. Make sure to pop into one of the local galleries or shops to browse unique, locally made goods. If you have an interest in literature, consider visiting the Robert Graves House, the former home of the British poet and novelist who spent much of his life in Deià. The house now serves as a museum and is a great place to learn more about the literary history of this inspiring village.
Dinner at Restaurant NAMA – As the sun starts to set, make your way to Restaurant NAMA for dinner, one of the best spots in town and a perfect place for a relaxed meal. The Mediterranean-Asian fusion menu is fantastic, but honestly, it’s the atmosphere that makes this place special. If you can, grab a seat on the back terrace—the views over the valley are next level. Pair your meal with a glass of wine or aperol spritz, toast to your first day in Mallorca, and enjoy the magic of this incredible little village.

MALLORCA ITINERARY- DAY 2

Ca’s Patro March
After a magical first day exploring Deià, it’s time to slow things down and soak up Mallorca’s natural beauty at a more relaxed pace. Day 2 is all about beautiful beaches, crystal-clear waters, fresh seafood, and best views—a perfect combination of beach time and exploring.
Relax at Cala Deià – Start your second day in Mallorca with a visit to the beautiful Cala Deià beach. Nestled in a cove surrounded by dramatic cliffs and lush greenery, it’s the perfect spot to spend the day. Take a dip in the clear turquoise waters, and if you pack snorkels and floatie, go snorkeling or just relax on a float. We bought a tiny pump on amazon and it was the best purchase. Blows up/deflates floats in 1-2 minutes! The beach is small and intimate, giving it a more secluded feel. They also have few spots to cliff jump. Arrive early (before 10am to get parking space), there is a small lot by the beach, otherwise you’ll have to park up hill and walk for a while.
Lunch at Ca’s Patro March – After spending the morning in the sun, head to this cozy beachside restaurant that sits on top of the hill overlooking the beach and hands-down has the best view of the Mediterranean! Be sure to make reservations on their website as it gets very busy, and spots go quickly. The seafood here is incredible, with fresh fish being a standout, along with the highlights for us like the grilled shrimps and perfectly grilled squid!
After lunch, you can either head back to the beach for a bit more sunbathing and swimming or just sit back, enjoy the views, and soak in the relaxing Mediterranean atmosphere. There’s no rush—this is Mallorca, after all!
Dinner at La Romaguera – End your day with dinner at La Romaguera in Sóller, a cozy spot. Be sure to grab a table outside —it’s the perfect setting on a quiet, scenic street. The tapas were full of flavor, and the seafood was incredibly fresh and delicious. Everything was beautifully prepared and reasonably priced. They also have great drink options to go with the meal. Make sure to book a table in advance—it’s a small place that fills up quickly!
MALLORCA ITINERARY - DAY 3

Relax at Cala Llombards – Spend your day at Cala Llombards, one of Mallorca’s most stunning beaches. This is a sandy beach that is surrounded by dramatic cliffs and turquoise waters making it a great spot to unwind. Arrive early to secure a good spot, especially during the busier hours when the beach tends to fill up quickly. If you didn’t bring your own beach gear, there are chairs and umbrellas available for rent, so you can easily settle in and enjoy yourself.
There is a small, restaurant with a laid-back atmosphere right on the beach, its a convenient spot to grab a refreshing drink or a light meal. Whether you’re in the mood for a quick snack or a casual lunch, it’s the ideal place to refuel without straying too far from the water.
If you’re feeling adventurous and want some excitement, Cala Llombards is perfect for some cliff jumping, giving you a thrill while taking in the beautiful views. Don’t forget to bring your snorkel gear, as the waters here are perfect for exploring underwater. You’ll find a variety of vibrant marine life and can even spot some hidden caves along the shore. Whether you’re seeking relaxation or adventure, Cala Llombards is a must-visit destination with something for everyone.
Dinner at Kingfisher – After a day of relaxation, head to Kingfisher in Port de Sóller for a memorable dinner experience. This charming harbor-side restaurant has a cozy, inviting atmosphere, with stunning sunset views that make it a special place to unwind as the day transitions into night. Situated right on the water’s edge, you can watch the boats gently glide by while eating your meal. The restaurant serves fresh seafood with Mediterranean flavors, beautifully presented. For best experience, be sure to grab a table on the terrace. You’ll have the best view of the harbor and surrounding hills as the sun sets. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy a relaxed meal and take in the beautiful scenery. Since it can get busy, especially at sunset, be sure to make a reservations to get the best table!
MALLORCA ITINERARY - DAY 4

Explore Sóller – Begin your day with a leisurely stroll through the picturesque Sóller. As you wander along the narrow streets, you’ll be surrounded by old buildings with traditional green shutters, vibrant plants hanging from windows, and cozy little cafes tucked away in every corner. The town has a relaxed, charming vibe, perfect for a slow morning walk. Be sure to stop at St. Cristo for a coffee and pastry—those freshly baked croissants are absolutely delicious and the perfect way to start your day!
After your coffee break, head over to the Sóller Cathedral, an architectural gem that beautifully blends Gothic and modernist styles. Take some time to admire the intricate details of the building before continuing your exploration. From there, make your way to the Botanic Garden. This peaceful garden is a lovely spot to enjoy nature and learn about the diverse plant life in Mallorca. It’s the perfect place to take in the beauty of the island.
For a truly unique experience, hop on the Sóller Train, a vintage wooden train that’s been running for over a century. The scenic ride through the countryside and mountains is absolutely stunning, with breathtaking views of the lush landscape and picturesque villages as you make your way down towards Port de Soller. The journey is like stepping back in time, and the views along the way are simply unforgettable.
Once you arrive in Port de Sóller, take some time to explore the harbor and enjoy the seaside atmosphere. The seaside town offers a beautiful view of the mountains and the calm, clear waters of the bay. If you’re feeling adventurous, take a boat trip to explore the coastline from the water. It’s a fantastic way to see the dramatic cliffs and hidden coves. Alternatively, if you prefer staying on land, go hiking in the Serra de Tramuntana mountains. Either way, youll the views will be unreal!
End your day with a delicious dinner at Restaurante Lluna 36, a cozy and welcoming spot with a fantastic menu. The ceviche and octopus are standouts—fresh, flavorful, and made with locally-sourced ingredients. The atmosphere is relaxed yet refined, making it the perfect place to unwind after a full day of exploration.
MALLORCA ITINERARY - DAY 5

Another Beautiful Beach Day! – Start your day with a scenic drive to Calo Des Moro, one of the island’s most beautiful and secluded beaches. If you’re staying in Sóller, it’s a little over an hour’s drive, so make sure to plan your timing accordingly. The effort is totally worth it when you arrive at this hidden gem. Calo Des Moro is a small, intimate beach with soft, golden sand and crystal-clear waters that shimmer in the sunlight. The beauty of the place makes it feel like a peaceful retreat, far from the crowds. The serene surroundings are perfect for unwinding and soaking in the beauty of nature.
Since the beach is small, I highly suggest arriving early to claim a spot, especially during the warmer months when it can get crowded quickly. Keep in mind that there is limited space to sit, so securing a spot early is key to enjoying the beach at its best. The access to the beach involves a bit of a hike—there’s a steep hill to climb down to get there, and you’ll need to make your way back up at the end of your visit, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes. There is no place to get food, make sure to pack a light lunch or snack.
Once Calo Des Moro gets crowded and you’re ready to explore a new spot, head over to Cala s’Almunia, just a short 10-minute walk away. This beach offers a slightly different vibe, with rocky terrain and clear waters that are perfect for snorkeling. The underwater world here is fascinating, with a variety of marine life to discover. If you’re feeling adventurous again, there are also a few cliffs that are great for cliff jumping, adding a bit of excitement to your beach day. Just be prepared for the rocky landscape, which makes it a more rugged but equally beautiful spot.
After soaking up the sun and enjoying the water, it’s time to head back and treat yourself to a delicious meal. On your way back, stop at Cassai, one of my favorite restaurants! It has the most stunning decor and delicious food. The place is filled with flowers and vibrant colors, giving it a unique and Instagrammable vibe that makes it a perfect spot for either a late lunch or early dinner. It’s a perfect place for a relaxed meal after the beach. Be sure to make a reservation, as it can get busy, especially in the evenings. They are open from 12 PM to 1 AM, so you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy a relaxing meal in this beautiful setting

MALLORCA ITINERARY - DAY 6

Spend the day exploring Valldemossa
Start your day in the quaint mountain village of Valldemossa (about 30 minutes from Sóller). This small village is tucked away in the Tramuntana mountains and is the perfect place to begin your day. As you wander through its cobblestone streets, you’ll pass old stone buildings with beautiful green shutters, colorful flowers, and plants hanging from balconies. The streets are narrow and winding, giving you the feeling of stepping into a storybook village.
Take your time to explore—there’s something special about getting lost here, allowing the serene atmosphere to envelop you. Some parts of the village are hilly, so be prepared for a little uphill walking, but it’s totally worth it for the charm of the town.
Stop at Ca’n Molinas for a coffee and a coca de patata, a traditional Mallorcan sweet pastry, an absolute must-try! The coca de patata is soft and fluffy, with just the right amount of sweetness. It’s a local favorite, and once you taste it, you’ll see why! The café has a cozy and welcoming vibe, making it the perfect spot to take a break, enjoy your coffee, and people-watch. The peaceful atmosphere here will set the tone for a relaxing day ahead.
After your snack, take a short walk to La Cartuja de Valldemossa, the famous monastery where the composer Frédéric Chopin once stayed. The monastery has a rich history, and visiting it gives you a glimpse into its past, from the monks who lived there to the famous artists who sought inspiration in the peaceful surroundings. As you explore, you’ll be able to enjoy the stunning views of the village and the mountains in the distance. The peaceful, quiet environment is perfect for reflection, and it’s a wonderful place to appreciate the history of the area.
For lunch, head to QuitaPenas Valldemossa, a lovely spot that captures the heart of the village with its delicious, locally-inspired dishes. The menu changes with the seasons, using fresh, local ingredients to create flavors that reflect the island’s rich culinary traditions. Whether you opt for a light dish like a fresh salad or something heartier, you’re in for a treat. The cozy ambiance of the restaurant, combined with the tasty food, makes it a fantastic place to enjoy a leisurely meal.
After lunch, take some time to relax and unwind in the Valldemossa Gardens. These beautiful gardens are a peaceful haven, perfect for taking a stroll among the trees and flowers. The lush greenery and scenic views make it a great spot to clear your mind and soak up the tranquility of the area. There are benches scattered throughout the gardens, so you can sit and enjoy the surroundings, read a book, or simply take in the natural beauty around you.
End your day with a delicious dinner at Es Roquissar, a cozy and intimate restaurant located right in the heart of Valldemossa. This is a great place that serves traditional Mallorcan dishes with a modern twist, all made with fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. The warm, welcoming atmosphere makes it a perfect place to wind down after a full day of exploring. The food is flavorful and beautifully presented, and the service is top-notch. The food seemed to be satisfying no matter what we chose, everything was so flavorful and made with such care and attention to detail, you’ll leave feeling satisfied and happy. The quiet, rustic ambiance of the restaurant adds to the experience, making it a perfect end to your day in this beautiful mountain village.
MALLORCA - DAY 7

This is your last day, so let’s make it extra memorable!
Start with a trip to Cala de sa Calobra, one of the most dramatic and breathtaking beaches in Mallorca. It’s about an hour’s drive from Sóller, but the journey is part of the adventure. Nestled between two towering cliffs, this beach feels like a secret paradise that’s hidden away from the world. You can choose to arrive by boat, which gives you a whole new perspective of the coastline, or take the winding road that snakes through the mountains. The drive is a bit of a challenge with its sharp turns and steep climbs, but the stunning views along the way make it well worth it. We saw a ton of cyclists going up and down the roads, so be careful—it’s a narrow road with some tight spots.
Once you arrive, park your car and head through two tunnels carved into the mountains. It’s about a 15-minute walk, but walking through the tunnels feels almost magical. After you come out of the second tunnel, you’ll need to walk a little further until you reach the beach. The beach itself is stunning—clear water and smooth pebbles beneath your feet. You’ll feel completely surrounded by nature, with the cliffs towering above you and the gentle sound of the waves crashing on the shore. It’s the perfect spot to cool off with a swim or just relax and soak in the peaceful vibe. Keep in mind, there are no sunbeds or shade, so bring your own umbrella. There are a few spots for cliff jumping into the refreshing water below. Spend your day relaxing and enjoying this gem on your last day. If you get hungry, there are a couple of restaurants near the parking lot where you can grab a bite.
After a day of exploring, head back home and now it’s time to unwind and enjoy a relaxed dinner at Xelini in Port de Sóller. Grab a table outside on the patio and enjoy fresh seafood while taking in the view of the harbor. This is truly a great spot with the perfect setting to enjoy your last meal in Mallorca. The seafood here is fresh and flavorful, with dishes that highlight the island’s best produce. If you’re in the mood for a classic paella or some freshly grilled fish, the food here is simple, delicious, and perfectly prepared. It’s one of those places where everything just hits the spot! As you eat dinner, the sunset will begin to cast a warm glow over the harbor, making the whole experience even more special. It’s the perfect way to end your Mallorca adventure, surrounded by good food, beautiful views, and the peaceful atmosphere of the harbor.

As your Mallorca adventure comes to an end, I hope this itinerary helps you make the most of your trip and experience the island’s incredible beauty, delicious food, and charming villages.
